Mpogo Safari Lodge in Lake Mburo National Park

Mpogo Safari Lodge in Lake Mburo National Park

The local tribes people know Mpogo as a highly cherished cow believed to be of good fortune in the Bacwezi Kingdom. Mpogo Safari Lodge is the pride of Kiruhura district, three hours from the Capital Kampala and 15 minutes away from Lake Mburo National Park.

The four spacious cottages with their comfortable furnishings are tastefully decorated to bring joy to the ancestors of the area, with spreading views of the landscape around the farm to the farthest horizons. The guest wing consists of six rooms; 3 doubles and 3 twins overlooking the Mpogo orchard.

The modest lodge which was  established in 2013 has a new standard of accommodation in Western Uganda for both the tourists and their drivers or guides. When it comes to the rooms, they are furnished with solar systems for lighting, fridges, charging and water heaters. The restaurant offers both local and international cuisine and the bar offers the comfort to sip a cocktail, wine, whisky or rum.

The serene lounge offers million dollar views of the sunset over the acacia woodlands.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy a well-deserved rest in a natural environment. The more active can enjoy cycling, village walks and jogging, whereas birdwatching, cultural experiences, farm excursions, boat excursions on Lake Mburo and game drives can be arranged for those with an interest for leisure and nature.

Mpogo Safari Lodge is open all year round. Photography enthusiasts are encouraged to check in during the months of May, June, July, August and September as the skies are very clear.
